Juliet and Ramsay

The matter of *Juliet and Ramsay* concerned proceedings before the Honourable Justice Burr. The father was not present and his counsel indicated they lacked instructions, particularly regarding the Family Report of 11 November 2009 and an affidavit filed by the mother that day.

The court was required to determine how to proceed with the consideration of the proceedings in light of the father's absence and lack of instructions. It also needed to consider appropriate orders for the parties and their extended families during the adjournment period.

Justice Burr ordered that further consideration of the proceedings be adjourned to 22 December 2009. The parties were directed to enrol in, attend, and complete the first available and convenient Kids Are First parenting programme, and to encourage their extended families to do the same. Paragraph 2 of the orders made on 27 August 2009 were to continue in effect during the adjournment.
