The case of Johnetta & Patsiokis involved a dispute between a mother and father concerning their child, B. The matter came before Stevenson J.

The court was required to determine the arrangements for the child's residence, parental responsibility, and the terms of contact between the child and each parent. Additionally, the court considered orders relating to the child's welfare, including restrictions on international travel, the process for medical treatment and information sharing, and specific prohibitions on the behaviour of each parent.

Stevenson J ordered the discharge of all existing orders concerning the child. The court established equal shared parental responsibility for both the mother and father. The child was ordered to live with the mother, with specific periods of residence with the father, including alternate weekends, Father's Day, half of each school holiday period (alternating annually), and a specific period during Christmas holidays. The court also imposed a strict restraint on removing the child from Australia without consent or court order, requesting the Australian Federal Police to place the child on a watch list. Further orders detailed the location of changeovers, the child's general practitioner, notification requirements for medical issues, and the sharing of medical information. Specific prohibitions were placed on each parent regarding medical specialists and, for the mother, contact with a Ms F, and for the father, shouting in the child's presence.
