The Administrative Appeals Tribunal considered an application for a Subclass 500 (Student) visa. The applicant sought review of a decision concerning the adequacy of their health insurance arrangements.

The primary legal issue before the Tribunal was whether the applicant had demonstrated adequate arrangements for health insurance cover for the relevant period of their enrolment, as required by clause 500.215 of Schedule 2 to the *Migration Regulations 1994*.

The Tribunal noted that it had received a certificate of overseas student health cover valid from 6 March 2019 until 15 September 2020. As the applicant's course of study was scheduled to conclude on 12 June 2020, this new evidence satisfied the Tribunal that the applicant had made adequate arrangements for health insurance during their enrolment period.

Consequently, the Tribunal remitted the application for reconsideration, with a direction that the applicant meets the health insurance criterion.
