This matter concerned parenting orders for a child, B, born in 2005, before Foster J. The dispute involved the mother and father regarding the arrangements for their child.

The court was required to determine the appropriate parenting orders, including the allocation of parental responsibility, the child's living arrangements, and the specific time the child would spend with each parent. Further issues included provisions for changeovers, communication between parents regarding the child's welfare, and restrictions on parental behaviour concerning alcohol and illicit substances.

Foster J discharged all previous parenting orders and made new orders establishing equal shared long-term parental responsibility for the child. The child was ordered to live with the mother, with specific provisions for the child to spend time with the father, including alternate weekends during school terms, half of each school holiday period, and Father's Day weekend. The orders also stipulated changeover locations, parental communication protocols, and prohibitions against denigration of the other parent. Additionally, the mother was restrained from consuming alcohol when the child was with her, and the father was restrained from using illicit substances or drugs when the child was with him.
