Harricks and Harricks

In the matter of *Harricks and Harricks*, heard before Judge Harman, the dispute concerned the welfare and medical treatment of the parties' son, [X]. The parents were unable to agree on how to address [X]'s diagnosed generalised anxiety disorder.

The court was required to determine the appropriate course of action for sourcing and engaging medical services to treat [X]'s anxiety disorder, and to establish interim measures to prevent the disruption of [X]'s ongoing treatment.

Judge Harman ordered that the trial be vacated and the proceedings listed for mention. Crucially, the court directed both parents to cooperate in sourcing and engaging appropriate medical services, including psychologists and psychiatrists, to treat [X]'s generalised anxiety disorder. Pending further orders, the court also imposed an interim injunction restraining the parties and the Independent Children’s Lawyer from issuing subpoenas or requesting written reports from [X]'s treating medical practitioners or staff of public health agencies involved in his care.
