In *Hailes & Hailes*, the parties were the mother and father of two children, B and N. The dispute concerned parenting arrangements for the children. The matter came before Murphy J.

The court was required to determine the living arrangements for the children, the time each child would spend with each parent, and the parental responsibility each parent would hold. Further issues included the children's contact with each other, the provision of information between parents regarding the children's health and education, and the publication of the court's reasons in specific circumstances.

Murphy J discharged all previous parenting orders. The court ordered that child B live with the mother and have no time with the father, save for time B might elect. Child N was ordered to live with the father and spend time with the mother only as agreed in writing. The father was granted sole parental responsibility for N, and the mother sole parental responsibility for B. The court also made detailed orders regarding the exchange of information between the parents concerning the children's welfare, education, and health, and mandated the provision of photographs of the children. The father was authorised to publish the court's reasons to lawful authorities investigating him in relation to child B. The Independent Children's Lawyer was discharged. The court also attached a Fact Sheet detailing the obligations and consequences of contravening the orders.
