Grant and Aiden (No 2)

In the matter of Grant and Aiden (No 2), Justice Cronin of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia was required to determine applications concerning contraventions and the future conduct of proceedings. The dispute involved applications filed by both the mother and the father, with the court addressing a contravention application filed on 22 February 2016, which was adjourned part-heard.

The court was tasked with managing the ongoing litigation, including vacating a hearing listed for 2 March 2016 and adjourning all extant applications to 18 March 2016. A key issue was the striking out of a contravention application filed on 24 December 2015. Furthermore, the court considered applications for leave to issue subpoenas and to file further applications and responses.

Justice Cronin made several orders to facilitate the progression of the case. Leave was granted to the mother to issue subpoenas to Telstra for mobile telephone records and to a psychologist, Mr P, to give evidence. The father was granted leave to file a further application, and the mother was granted leave to file a response to this application. Directions were also given regarding the filing and service of documents, including the mother filing a Notice of Address for Service.
