Grant and Aiden

This matter came before Dessau J concerning a dispute between Grant and Aiden regarding their child, X. The court issued a series of orders addressing procedural matters, interim contact arrangements, and restrictions on medical assessments.

The court was required to determine the appropriate interim contact arrangements for the child, X, and to establish procedural directions for the upcoming hearing. Additionally, the court considered the role of the Independent Children's Lawyer (ICL) and the need to restrain parties from unilaterally seeking medical or psychological assessments for the child.

Dessau J ordered that the hearing date be vacated and relisted for a five-day period commencing 31 January 2011. Procedural directions were given for the filing of affidavits, witness lists, case outlines, and minutes of orders. Interim contact was ordered for the father to spend time with X each Sunday, with specific arrangements for changeovers at a contact centre or police station foyer, and requiring the attendance of the father's aunt or an agreed substitute.
