Grange and Grange

In the matter of *Grange and Grange*, Benjamin J considered a contravention application filed by Ms Grange against Mr Grange. The application sought to establish that Mr Grange had contravened certain orders of the court.

The primary legal issue before the court was to determine which grounds of Ms Grange's contravention application were to proceed and which were to be dismissed. The court was also required to make directions regarding the future conduct of the proceedings concerning the grounds that were not dismissed.

Benjamin J dismissed the majority of the grounds raised in Ms Grange's contravention application, finding that only grounds 1, 5, 6, 10, and 11 had sufficient merit to proceed. The court ordered that these remaining grounds be adjourned for mention on 4 July 2016, with leave granted for the parties to attend by videolink. Further directions were made for Ms Grange to file an amended application detailing the remaining grounds within 21 days, and for personal service of the amended application and supporting affidavits on Mr Grange within a further 28 days.
