Grand and Ladbury

In the matter of *Grand and Ladbury*, heard before Murphy J, the dispute concerned parenting orders for three children. The father sought sole parental responsibility and orders for the children to live with him, while the mother's position in relation to the children was also a central issue.

The court was required to determine the best interests of the children in relation to their living arrangements and parental responsibility. Specifically, the court had to consider whether to grant the father sole parental responsibility and make orders for the children to live with him, and to define the nature and extent of any contact the mother would have with the children.

Murphy J ordered that the father have sole parental responsibility for the children and that they live with him. The court further ordered that any time the mother spends with the children must be agreed in writing between the parties or their representatives. Pursuant to sections 65DA(2) and 62B of the relevant legislation, the court also ordered that a Fact Sheet detailing the obligations created by these orders, the consequences of contravention, and information on assistance for compliance be attached to and included within the orders. The matter was adjourned for further directions.
