Gouzali and Carpel

In *Gouzali and Carpel*, heard by Gill J, the dispute concerned parenting orders for two children, X and Y. The parties, Ms Carpel (the Mother) and Mr Gouzali (the Father), sought to establish new arrangements for the children's care and time with each parent.

The court was required to determine the nature of parental responsibility for the children, where the children would live, and the extent of the Father's time with each child. The court also needed to consider the wishes of the child Y in its determination.

Gill J ordered that the parents have equal shared parental responsibility for both children. The children were to live with the Mother. For X, the Father was to have unsupervised time each alternate Saturday from noon to 4pm, with changeovers at B Group, unless otherwise agreed in writing. For Y, time with the Father was to be in accordance with Y's wishes. All previous parenting orders were discharged until further order.
