Flinders and Carmine

In the matter of Flinders and Carmine, Justice Strickland of the Supreme Court of Tasmania considered an application by the father and a response filed by the mother. The dispute concerned parenting arrangements and allegations of contravention.

The court was required to determine whether to grant the father's oral application for a warrant of arrest against the mother, and to set a date for the final hearing of the parenting proceedings and the father's contravention application.

Justice Strickland vacated a future directions hearing and brought it forward, scheduling the final hearing for 6 August 2008. The mother was ordered to file and serve her affidavit of evidence in chief by 4 August 2008, with the consequence that her Amended Response would be dismissed and the hearing would proceed undefended should she fail to comply or attend. The father's application alleging contravention was adjourned to the same date as the final hearing. The court dismissed the father's oral application for a warrant of arrest for the mother.
