Epstein and Epstein

In the matter of Epstein and Epstein, heard before Judge Harman, the dispute concerned parenting arrangements for the parties' children.

The court was required to determine the appropriate orders for the children's welfare, including the necessity for family counselling and the appointment of an Independent Children's Lawyer.

Judge Harman ordered that both parties attend an intake appointment at a Family Relationship Centre for assessment for family counselling services, and subject to suitability, participate in and complete such sessions as are offered and advised. The court also directed each party to register with and complete the online program offered by www.uptoparents.org within four weeks, providing proof of completion to all parties and the Independent Children's Lawyer. An Independent Children's Lawyer was appointed for the children. The proceedings were subsequently transferred to the Newcastle Registry of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and listed for mention.
