The Administrative Appeals Tribunal considered an application for a Contributory Parent (Migrant) (Class CA) visa, Subclass 143. The applicants sought review of a decision concerning their eligibility for this visa.

The primary legal issue before the Tribunal was whether the applicants met the criteria for the visa, specifically Clause 143.228 of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, which relates to the acceptance of Assurances of Support.

The Tribunal noted that on 8 October 2018, copies of letters from Centrelink accepting the Assurances of Support were provided. In light of this new evidence, the Tribunal was satisfied that Clause 143.228 had been met. Consequently, the Tribunal remitted the matter for reconsideration.
