Council of the New South Wales Bar Association v Asuzu

The Tribunal considered the application of the Council of the New South Wales Bar Association against the Respondent, Ezekiel-Hart Asuzu, a barrister, in relation to various complaints about the Respondent's professional conduct. The complaints concerned the Respondent's conduct during the renewal of his practising certificate for the 2007/2008 financial year, his conduct during a hearing before Windeyer J in February 2006, and his conduct in relation to the preparation and prosecution of a proceeding in the Supreme Court of New South Wales. The Tribunal found that the Respondent was guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct in relation to the Statutory Declaration Ground and unsatisfactory professional conduct in relation to the Kawala Ground. The Tribunal also found that the Respondent was guilty of professional misconduct in relation to the S 660 Notice Ground. The Tribunal would otherwise dismiss the Applications in proceedings 090202 and 102005.
