Bennett v Minister of Community Welfare

This case concerns an appeal to the High Court of Australia by Wayne Kenneth Bennett against the Minister of Community Welfare. The dispute arose from an injury sustained by Bennett in 1973 when he was 16 years old and a ward of the State, confined at the "Riverbank" detention centre. While operating a bench saw in the woodwork shop, Bennett lost fingers on his left hand.
