Banks and Anor and Loffler

In the matter of *Banks and Anor and Loffler*, Berman J of the Family Court of Australia considered an application concerning interim arrangements for a child. The dispute involved the father and paternal grandmother seeking to spend time with the child, B, born in 2011.

The court was required to determine the interim arrangements for the child's time with the father and paternal grandmother, and to consider the preparation of a family report to assist in these determinations.

Berman J ordered that the father and, at his election, the paternal grandmother, spend time with the child at a children's contact centre on specific dates in September 2015, and thereafter for four-weekly sessions as determined by the centre's director. Furthermore, pursuant to s 62G(2) of the relevant Act, the parties and the child were ordered to attend upon a family consultant nominated by the Director of Child Dispute Services for the preparation of a family report concerning interim arrangements. This report was to be completed and released by 4pm on 11 November 2015, with further consideration of the amended application adjourned to 13 November 2015.
