In the matter of *Abebe & Abebe*, Aldridge J of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia determined a dispute concerning the parental responsibility and living arrangements for a child born in 2010. The proceedings involved applications and cross-applications by the child's mother, Ms Abebe, and father, Mr Abebe.

The central legal issues before the court were to determine who should have sole parental responsibility for the child, where the child should live, and whether the child should spend any time with the father.
