Abdou and Ahmed

In the matter of *Abdou and Ahmed*, heard before Hannam J, the dispute concerned financial orders sought by the Wife following the breakdown of the marriage. The Wife sought spousal maintenance and orders relating to the payment of outgoings for a property and the children's education expenses.

The court was required to determine the appropriate quantum of spousal maintenance payable by the Husband to the Wife, and to make orders regarding the Husband's responsibility for the mortgage, statutory outgoings, insurance, and utility charges for the parties' former matrimonial home. Additionally, the court had to determine the Husband's financial obligations concerning the education expenses of the parties' two children.

Hannam J ordered the Husband to pay spousal maintenance of $715 per week, commencing from the first Monday after the making of the orders, to be paid directly into a nominated bank account. The Husband was also ordered to meet all mortgage repayments, statutory outgoings, insurance, and utility charges for the D Street property as they fell due. Furthermore, the Husband was directed to pay all expenses associated with the education of the parties' children.
