4 yearly review of modern awards—Award stage—Group 1

This decision deals with a number of outstanding technical and drafting issues arising out of Group 1 of the award stage of the four yearly review of modern awards under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Act). The 30 awards allocated to Group 1 are divided into five subgroups (1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and 1E). The decision confirms a number of provisional views previously expressed by the Full Bench in relation to the awards in Group 1 and deals with some outstanding issues raised by interested parties. The decision also addresses some issues which were not dealt with in previous decisions and which are not common issues. The awards will be updated and republished, and interested parties will be provided with one final opportunity to comment on the technical and drafting aspects of the exposure drafts in respect of the Group 1 awards.
